UnderX Routing Committee

Maintaining a Safe and Reliable Network

Participation in the UnderX administration and support teams requires compliance with these policies. They are intended to protect the network from abuse, flooding, unauthorized access, and misuse of staff privileges.

01

Server administrator and IRC operator rules

  1. Regularly check that your server remains linked and operating correctly on the network.
  2. Do not use OPMODE privileges to give yourself operator status in channels registered with the Channel Service bot, X.
  3. OPMODE may only be used when a channel is not listed on the server's ILC channel list.
  4. For channels under registration with no available operators, OPMODE is reserved for authorized zT members restoring channel operators.
  5. Never abuse IRC operator privileges. A server may be delinked by the Routing Committee when its operator privileges are misused.
02

CService developer, administrator, and representative rules

  1. Do not use privileged commands to bypass the normal channel registration process. Channels within the required 7–10 day application period must not be registered directly.
  2. CService representatives must know their assigned official help channels and remain available to assist users there.
  3. All CService helpers may assist in #CService, #zT, and #Help, even when they are not specifically assigned to all three channels.
  4. If a user speaks a language you understand, you may assist them. Otherwise, allow a qualified helper who understands the language and question to respond.
  5. Keep official help channels focused on support. Avoid unrelated conversations while serving as a CService team member.
  6. Users with access level 700 or higher may grant representative-level access only when the CService developer, co-developer, or administrators approve it.
  7. Never abuse CService team access. Serious misuse may result in removal from the network.
03

Shared responsibility

These policies apply alongside any instructions issued by the UnderX administration and Routing Committee. Staff members are expected to act carefully, respectfully, and in the best interests of the network and its users.
